Tomorrow my dad will be driving Elle and I into Chicago. We will stay overnight at Laura's house and fly out of O'Hare tomorrow. This past week has been a total whirlwind of phone calls, planning, buying travel supplies, saying goodbyes, and packing. I am still not finished with the goodbyes or the packing. It is touch, trying to guess what I will need to take with me for the next five months...and of couse I constantly wonder if I am packing too much or not enough. Preparing for a trip this big can be overwhelming.<br /><br />I haven't spend time with any of my friends since New Years. I have just been too busy trying to get last minute deatils i order to go out. I apologize to all that I never got to say a proper goodbye to. I want you all to know that I am thinking of you, and I will miss you while I am gone. Thank you for all of your kind thoughts and words as I prepare to leave. I will try my best to keep in touch while I am away. It has been hard to say goodbye to my co-workers, friends, and my family, but I am incredibly excited about traveling. I have a feeling that this is going to be the adventure of a lifetime. <br /><br />The next time I post, I will most likely be in Florence, Italy. I will be leaving Cedar Rapids January 5th, and flying out of Chicago on Januaray 6th. I will spend the first eleven weeks living with a homestay family in Florence. Then I will have a week off to travel. I will finish out the rest of the semester in London. I am very excited, but I know that I will miss my family and friends in the U.S. I will traveling with six other students from Coe ( a very cool group of people) and I am sure that we will have a blast! I should be returning to the U.S. the first week of June.<br /><br />So, one month and two days....and counting till I leave.
